In February 2018, ELEKS became an ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2013 certified company.
ELEKS achieved the certification through validation by an independent audit from December 2017 to January 2018 and demonstrated an ongoing and systematic approach to managing and protecting the company and customer data.
In order to verify ELEKS’ conformity to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2013 standards, the company goes through external audits on a yearly basis to prove the maturity and compliance of their processes.
The purpose of the standards is to assist companies in meeting statutory and regulatory requirements relating to their product while achieving excellence in their customer service and delivery. ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 implemented, to their full potential, become an invaluable asset to ELEKS — company becomes more competitive and receives new benefits when it comes to negotiating with world-class enterprises.
ISO 9001 certification will ensure that adopted Quality Management Systems (QMS) work to improve the business and are not just a set of procedures that ELEKS’ employees will find hard to manage. By taking an approach that implements more efficient working practices and focuses on the business objectives of the organisation, ELEKS will achieve a system that improves its levels of customer satisfaction.
With the implementation of ISO 9001 certification standards, ELEKS confirms the improved efficiency of its business processes, consistency in the delivery of products and services, commitment to quality, increased credibility and competitiveness. Integration and alignment of internal processes will lead to increased productivity and enhanced customer satisfaction.
ISO 27001 is the best-known standard in the family providing requirements for an Information Security Management System (ISMS). ELEKS’ 27001:2013 certification confirms that high-security level is company’s most significant asset and all confidential data is processed according to the world best security practices.
ELEKS prepares to comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which becomes enforceable from May 2018 and aims to advance the personal data protection rules. Implementation of IS0 9001 and ISO 27001 certificates is a company’s step towards world established ISMS and privacy requirements.
About ISO
ISO is an independent, non-governmental international organisation with a membership of 161 national standards bodies. Through its members, it brings together experts to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based, market-relevant International Standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.
ISO 9001:2015 (QMS) is internationally recognised as the world’s leading quality management standard and has been implemented by over one million organisations in over 170 countries globally.
ISO 9001 is based on the plan-do-check-act methodology and provides a process-oriented approach to documenting and reviewing the structure, responsibilities, and procedures required to achieve effective quality management in an organisation. Specific sections of the standard contain information on topics such as:
- Requirements for a QMS, including documented information, planning and determining process interactions
- Responsibilities of management
- Management of resources, including human resources and an organisation’s work environment
- Product realisation, including the steps from design to delivery
- Measurement, analysis and improvement of the QMS through activities like internal audits and corrective and preventive action
ISO 27001:2013 specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system within the context of the organisation. It also includes requirements for the assessment and treatment of information security risks tailored to the needs of the organisation.
