Imerys is a French multinational company that specialises in the production of industrial minerals, extracting and processing rocks and minerals for specific customer applications across a diverse range of industries from manufacturing and construction to automotive and consumer goods.
Imerys’ digital presence spanned 60+ niche websites created over ten years in disparate styles and platforms. This incohesive digital image created many challenges and didn’t reflect the new corporate vision. The sites lacked a unified brand image, the Imerys product catalogue was fragmented, and the static technical content was unengaging. They were also expensive and hard to maintain.
Imerys wanted to move away from a siloed multi-website experience to a single customer-centric digital offering with an enhanced user journey and lead-management process – the Imerys Customer Digital Experience (CDX) project.
It began an extensive internal scoping phase to define its value proposition, guiding principles, and target architecture. Imerys then chose its development partner, ELEKS – based on our robust software expertise and integrated approach to project implementation – to design and deliver the new Imerys.com.
The ELEKS team helped Imerys deliver a harmonised digital web portal with 600+ pages of business and corporate content and a depth unique to the specialty minerals industry. The site, launched in March 2022, was built on Drupal 9 CMS and deployed on the AWS cloud to ensure extended autoscaling capabilities. Alongside development and design, ELEKS’ experts assisted with content strategy development, setup of content governance and content migration.
